Upon arrival will meet and proceed to Munnar. Munnar – as the name itself states, Munnar is the confluence of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Munnar is situated at 1,600 m above sea level. This hill station was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Sprawling tea plantations, picture-book towns, winding lanes and holiday facilities make Munnar a popular resort town. En-route to Munnar from Cochin you have the opportunity to enjoy the scenic beauty of Cheyyappara waterfalls, Valara waterfalls, Cardamom Plantations and Tea plantations. After breakfast proceed for sightseeing of Munnar which includes Mattupetty Dam (boating at own cost, coordinate with driver), Echo point where the natural Echo phenomenon is always happening, Honeybee Tree, Anamudi Peak view point (highest peak in south India standing at a height of over 2700 m), Kundala Dam and lake, the Eravikulam (Rajamalai) National Park (Closed form 29th January 2018 to 10th April 2018 for breeding) which is a 30 minutes’ drive away from Munnar town (where you can see Nilgiri Tahr the rare species of Mountain Goat), Tata Tea Museum, Rose Garden and Blossom Park. After breakfast proceed to Thekkady. Thekkady is India’s major wildlife sanctuaries, sprawled over an area of 777sq.kms is rich in varied flora and fauna. Enjoy a boating (on own) at the lake and this is the only wildlife sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing wildlife at close from the safety of a boat on the lake. The probable animals to watch are Bison, Gaur, Wild Elephants, Sambhar and a wide variety of birds. And also visit the Spices plantations. You can do other optional activities like, Elephant safari, Kalari payattu (A traditional martial art), Kathakali Show (A traditional performance art), Ayurveda massages etc at Thekkady and these are not included in the package cost. After breakfast proceed to Alleppey to check into houseboat at 12 Noon. Houseboat Cruise through the backwaters is the most enchanting holiday experience in the world. After breakfast checkout from houseboat and proceed to Cochin.
